So the disciples brought a donkey
and a colt as Jesus had commanded them, and the disciples laid
their clothes on them, and set Jesus on them. And a very great
multitude spread their clothes on the road; others cut down
branches from the trees and spread them on the road. Then the
multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out,
"Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is He who comes in
the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" And when
Jesus had entered Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying,
"Who is this?" So the multitude said, "This is
Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee."

Jesus soon went up to the Mount of
Olives to pray and talk to His disciples. While He was still
speaking to His disciples, behold a multitude; and he who was
called Judas, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus, went before
them and drew near to Jesus to kiss Him. But Jesus said to him,
"Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"
Then Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple,
and the elders who had come to Him, "Have you come out, as
against a robber, with swords and clubs? When I was with you
daily in the temple, you did not try to seize Me. But this is
your hour; and the power of darkness." Having arrested
Jesus, they brought Him into the high priest's house.

Now the men who held Jesus mocked
Him and beat Him. And having blindfolded Him, they struck Jesus
on the face and asked Him, saying, "Prophesy to us,
Christ!"
