Adult Choir - The choir is a non-auditioned ensemble whose primary goal is to lead the congregation of Rainbow Presbyterian Church in Christ-centered worship. Weekly rehearsal is held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the sanctuary.
In the summer of 2004, the Choir recorded “Offerings”, a CD of favorite anthems. This project was produced as an outreach ministry of the Music Department. Other recent performances of note include the performance of John Rutter’s Magnificat at Carnegie Hall with Maestro Rutter conducting and accompanied by the Brooklyn Philharmonic Orchestra. The Choir has also presented the musical play, Home of the Brave with a full drama cast at Gadsden’s Mort Glosser Amphitheater. This musical was a tribute to those who valiantly served our country in both the Armed Forces and the Civil Services.
Concert Series - Another community outreach program of the Music Ministry at Rainbow Presbyterian Church is the Concert Series. The Series features four or five artists per season and is free to the public. Each concert is different in style and is geared to community outreach. Some of the artists that have performed previously as part of the Series have included: Dick and Mel Tunney, Ivan Parker, Anthony Burger, Stephen Neilson, Mark Hayes, Mary McDonald, The Lamb Family, and the Concert Choirs of Auburn University and UAB.
Worship Team - Assists in leading worship for the first service, using vocalists and musicians to incorporate a variety of music (both past and present) to bring glory to God. It is made up of volunteer high school and adult members who practice on a weekly basis.
